About Fredrik Hansson
Fredrik photographs rooms the way they feel, not just the way they look.

He has been shooting spaces for ten years. It started with real estate - a good school for working fast, and an even better one for noticing when a room has actually been thought about. Somewhere along the way it stopped being about square metres and became an interest in what good design really does to people: how a room can make you calmer, or more awake, or more inclined to stay a while. That's what he's after in a picture - the mood of a place rather than an inventory of it.
He grew up spending summers on the family sailboat along the Swedish coast, where nothing useful ever happened in a hurry - a habit that seems to have stuck. On a shoot he's unhurried and easy company; the work is serious, the day doesn't have to be.
